"F Word: Images of Forgiveness" Exhibition now at Blackburn Cathedral - 8/2/2010

The F Word: Images of Forgiveness Exhibition is a thought-provoking collection of arresting images and personal narratives exploring forgiveness in the face of atrocity. The exhibition is currently on display in the Cathedral's South Transept until Monday March 8th. Its visit to Blackburn has been deliberately timed to coincide with Lent, the themes of which tie in well with forgiveness.

The exhibition has been produced by The Forgiveness Project  which is a UK-based charitable organisation which explores forgiveness, reconciliation and conflict resolution through real-life human experience. The organisation works in prisons, schools, faith communities and with any group wishing to explore the nature of forgiveness, whether in the wider political context or within their own lives. Their vision is to build a better future by healing the wounds of the past.

The F Word Exhibition was first launched in London in 2004 and has since been displayed in over 300 venues worldwide. Drawing together voices from South Africa, the USA, Israel, Palestine, Northern Ireland and England, it examines forgiveness as a healing process, a journey out of victimhood and, ultimately, a journey in hope.

The exhibition is open to the public from Monday 8th February to 8th March 2010 - Monday 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Saturday 10 - 3 p.m. Sunday 12 Noon - 3.30 p.m.
