Cathedral Chair Appeal - 1/10/2012

Blackburn Cathedral is comprehensively restoring its 400 iconic Nave Chairs. Each year we host many services and other events and high-quality seating is a vital part of our hospitality to guests, visitors and worshippers alike. Our existing chairs have stood up well to the test of time but are now in need of some care and attention.

The chairs were ingeniously designed and their unique features are worth preserving, not simply from an historical point of view,but also for their clever practical advantages.

Each Chair costs £210 to be restored. The work will be done locally in the workshop of Paul Case Furniture, Osbaldeston and further details of the process can be found on the display at the back of the Cathedral.
