Chase the Mosquito - 24/4/2010

Ushna Mughal and Karem Issa, the FaithsAct Fellows based at Blackburn Cathedral, organised an event in Manchester on Saturday 24th April to mark World Malaria Day. It began with a sponsored run to chase a mosquito from Piccadilly Gardens to the Crowne Plaza Hotel where there was food, personal accounts and entertainment from Manchester School of Samba. Amongst the speakers were Pastor Francis Asante-Boadu, Canon Chris Chivers, Anjum Anwar and students from Burnley College and Leeds University. A message had been sent from Archbishop Tutu and a video was shown featuring players and the manager of Blackburn Rovers, giving their support to the campaign.
